The Chantry Chapel November Art Walk will be the last in 2011 and will celebrate a successful year’s programme of art events, including a week long Gallery Arts exhibition in May to coincide with the opening of The Hepworth Wakefield, during which the Chantry received 1300 visitors.
The November Christmas Art Walk will once again see Gallery Arts members exhibiting a mixture of work in different media and styles.
Linda Golding, one of the Gallery Arts Members has had a very successful year with her unique take on the colourful Yorkshire landscape. Following the May exhibition Linda has been selling her cards in Wakefield Tourist Information Centre, The Cathedral and more recently in The Hepworth where sales are doing particularly well since her recent appearance in the new 2012 Wakefield Tourist Guide. The article features her as a local artist and shows a piece of her artwork which TIC/WMDC commissioned to promote visitor attractions in the Wakefield area, along with a chance to win the original by entering an online competition. Copies of the guide can be obtained from the Tourist Information Centre (and other venues when in stock) which is located in the Bull Ring.
So come along to the Gallery Arts Christmas exhibition where you will find original artwork, prints and cards which may give you some ideas for Christmas gifts. See information below for opening times of the Artwalk and extended exhibition days.
