ANN-MARIE
Ann-Marie Day
I began painting as a hobby when i was 9yrs old,it helps me to relax. Family have said my talent comes from my mum's side of the family as my grandad Norman Madley Walker was a publicity artist,(he had a hand in designing the polar bear for Ford) Although i never knew him as he died before i was born.
I studied GCSE & A Level Fine Art to refine my skills.I've tried most media begining with Watercolour, Pastels,Oils(as part of A Level course) finally settling with Acrylics,my present favourite with embossing which helps to capture a light effect in a piece of work aswell as giving it texture. My favourite subjects include Landscapes, Seascapes, Architecture & Animals(domestic or wild) & enjoy challenging myself with new subjects/media.
I joined Wakefield Art Club when i was 15yrs old. They encouraged me to exhibit my work locally,Resulting in a successful year with exhibits at Wakefield Cathedral & Netherton. The piece 'Remember The Heroes' was done for the charity Help For Heroes which was presented to them in June 2010.My inspiration is the world around me but mostly the spectacular light in Cornwall as reflected in my recent work.
